Note that even though it says 6500K Cool Day Light, it is more of Soft White which would be around 5500K. So, if you absolutely want the crystal white light like the one with Fluorescent bulbs, then this is not for you. I would have preferred 6500K but I am OK with 5500K as well. The other aspect I like about this is the wide angle light distribution which is not offered by others. Other manufacturers offer rimless surface mount but they are focussed and narrow angle which results in uneven lighting of room unless we place multiple lights in multiple places. But with this product, the dome diffuser lets the light distribute more evenly all around which is more pleasant to the eyes. This is the reason why I decided to keep it even though it's not 6500K. Keep in mind that this is not true surface mount. The electrical connection points protrude from the back almost 10mm. You may be able to place it flush the surface if you already have a junction box with bulb holder by simply removing the bulb holder. But if you have to place it at a point where there is no junction box in wall or in ceiling, then you will have to first place a 15mm thick wood or plywood piece and make hold in the middle so that the electrical connections do not touch the wall/ceiling without grounding the live and also to hold it properly in place. Once installed, it's easy to replace the bulb in future if the bulb goes bad. Simply pull the bulb and place other one. But this connection is a proprietary holder. Not standardised like B22. So, if you want to use it at multiple places, keep some extra pieces at hand. The best part is its uniform light distribution all around.
