Why is meal the first ingredient when the first ingredient should be meat?

Chicken meal is ground dehydrated chicken meat (both contain meat, skin, possibly some bone but exclude feathers, heads, feet and entrails). Because it is lower in moisture, pound for pound, it contains a significant greater amount of protein.

Is this super tiny? My Cavachon puppy will only eat really tiny kibbles.

I feel your pain.. It is not teenie tiny but one of the smallest foods I can find. There are some "toy" breed foods that are smaller but not the same quality. I have fed this to all types tiny ones eat it just fine. I rescue hundreds of puppies every year and this is by far the best food I have ever found.
