Review: Seller shipped blended instead of pure madagascar - I recieved blended extract instead of madagascar. I paid madagascar price which is almost twice the price. When I contacted the store and filed a complaint, I had to "prove" that I recieved wrong, and I did with sending picture. Then they refused to admit that there where any difference between the two products, because they had talked to their supplier about it they said. Then I showed them the nielsen massey homepage where it describe the clear differences to them. Then they said they could refund the item IF I sent it back in mail (which costs more than the product) And when I said I wantet also refunded my shipping if I returned it, they could "of course" not do that. So basically they forced me to take a loss, and was not willing to take a loss themselves for the error they did.

**Q: Can you taste any difference in the "Bourbon" vanilla over the regular alcohol ones like McCormick etc?**
A: If you get Real Nielsen-Massey Madagascar Bourbon Pure Vanilla Extract, it is over the top good. The problem is Amazon is using 3rd party sellers. Our bottle was not the usual dark brown. It tasted like it had been cut with a bottle of rubbing alcohol. This is a perishable item, so unless you can fight it out with your credit card company, it’s non-returnable and you’re out over a $100 for stuff that is questionable if it’s even safe to pour down your drain.

**Q: Why is there added sugar?**
A: This is literally answered in the PRODUCT DESCRIPTION, I’ve copy & pasted it ; 

Why is there sugar in the extract?

Sugar is one of five permissible ingredients the FDA allows in pure vanilla extracts. It helps in the extraction process by keeping the extracted vanilla compounds in suspension, aiding in product clarity. We use 100% all-natural, crystalized cane sugar for its reliable quality and taste. The sugar content in our extract makes up less than 5% of the finished product, an amount that is nutritionally insignificant when a small quantity is added to a dish. We do not add any extra sugar after the extraction process.

**Q: does this item have alcohol in it?**
A: Does it have alcohol?  Boy does it have alcohol!  Don’t buy from 3rd party. Read under the price tag if it’s 3rd party.

A: There's no bourbon in it. Madagascar Bourbon vanilla beans does not have anything to do with Bourbon whiskey, it derives its name from the old name for Madagascar - the Bourbon Islands.

Ich verwende das Extract für diverse Eiscremsorten. Wenige Tropfen bis höchstens ein Teelöfel auf die Menge Sahne und Milch für ca. 1.5 L Eis, ein Traum. Sprich für reines Vanille Eis ein Teelöfel und zum abschmecken zum Teil nur wenige Tropfen bis ½ Teelöfel für andere Sorten wie z.B. Ahorneis. Meine Freunde lieben mein Eis.
