They came with 28W (40W equivalent) eco halogen bulbs which burnt out with irritating frequency. I'd looked at GU9 LED replacements before but, they were huge, looking like corn on the cob. Anyway, after careful research I bought these along with a set from another manufacturer for comparison sake. They are longer than the halogen bulbs but these are slightly shorter than the other brand so there is less bulb poking out of the bottom of the glass shade. They fit into the sockets easily and are far easier to remove than the halogen bulbs they replace. The light output is instantaneous and, in my opinion, brighter than the halogens. There is no flicker either. It's great to know that all six of these bulbs are using only slightly more than one of the halogen bulbs I've replaced. If these last as long as expected I will be even happier than I am now with them.***UPDATE*** As of today, 26th October 2020 I have not had to replace a single one of these bulbs and they are used daily.***UPDATE*** As of today, 17th October 2022 I have not had to replace a single one of these bulbs and they are still used daily.
