They are more like a hybrid spike/knife which is perfect for throwing. There is not a cutting edge which is prime for a throwing knife - an edge would be prone to chipping, would weaken the blade and throw off the balance. These appear to be milled from billet steel, with full thickness up the last 30cm or so and then tapered to a wicked point. The handle has small holes and slots that balance it perfectly - center of gravity is right in the middle. I've used all variety of custom/bespoke tools (I hesitate to call them knives), commercial and many in between and these are superior to them all, both in quality and price. I wouldn't be surprised to learn that these were milled by CNC process as they are absolutely symmetrical.
