Please read the following instructions carefully before installing your key safe. Always wear goggles or other suitable eye protection before starting to drill. You will need 4 x Thunderbolts (all included) Drill 5mm Masonry Drill Bit Eye Protection Marker / Pencil Tape Measure Roll of Tape 1. Your key safe should be carefully positioned so it is hidden from view. 2. Select a flat area of wall in an area where you can drill into brick. 3. Using the base of the TPU cover as a template, mark 4 x hole positions onto the wall with a marker or pencil. 4. The holes that secure the thunderbolts must be drilled to at least 50mm. 5. Position your key safe and TPU base over the 4 holes and insert the thunderbolts through the holes and hand tighten. YOUR KEY SAFE On the front of the key safe, there are 10 buttons numbered 1 to 0. There is also an ‘open’ slide catch and a C (cancel) button. The key safe is shipped from the factory without a preset combination. This means that the ‘open’ slide catch will open the key safe without any number buttons being pressed. BEFORE INSTALLING THE KEY SAFE Choose your own combination for the key safe. It is recommended that you do not use a number combination that can be easily guessed. Avoid numbers linked to your telephone number or birthday. Do not use a bank card PIN number as this may breach your financial security should someone determine the combination to your key safe. Use a unique number that only you will know. Take a photo on your phone or record it on the Combination Protector Card included; this should be safely stored so that in the unlikely event that you forget your combination it can be located and used to access your keys. SETTING YOUR COMBINATION STEP 1 To set the combination for the first time, slide the C (cancel) button down to clear the memory and reset the number buttons. Slide down the ‘open’ button and pull open the lid. STEP 2 There are 10 metal dials numbered 1 to 0 with red arrow indicators on the key safe door. There is no preset combination so all the red arrows should be facing towards the word RESET. NOTE: these numbers correspond to the numbered buttons on the front of the lid. STEP 3 Using the Combination Setting Key provided, set each digit of your combination. To do this, simply place the Combination Setting Key into the metal dial and apply light pressure and rotate 180°. You should be able to feel the dial click into place. The red arrow should now be facing towards the word SET. Repeat for each number in your combination. STEP 4 Reattach the plastic cover, inserting and tightening the screw. It's strong, quite heavy (which is good) and is suitably spacious inside - including a little hook to hang keys on. A black plastic / rubber cover disguises what it is making the whole unit anonymous. In my view, that's an excellent security feature. I also mounted mine in an obscured position. It looks like an electrical junction box. The numbers to open the unit are large, press easily and it's obvious that they are pressed because they stay down. They're not at all fiddly and for instance would be easy to open in the dark. One point to note. The 4-6 numbers of your chosen combination can be pressed in any order thus reducing the total number of possible numbers. However I don't think that's a serious issue. The unit can be secured to the wall easily. I chose to mount on wood as the nearby masonry wall is so uneven that one couldn't get a flush finish. I am satisfied that it's secure. How can I get into it?** A: You can't. But what you can do is press the cancel button and then try the last key combination you set. If still not working, lightly spray WD40 over the keys and press one at the time all the buttons, then press the cancel button and repeat this action about six times. then try putting in the correct combination to open it. If this does not work, consider other options, like has it been damaged, has the combination changed even though you thought it hadn't. Just methodically work through all options. **Q: how does the keysafe fasten to the wall?** A: If you drill holes inton the wall, using the correct sized mason drill bit (as per instructions), you then use the bolts provide and screw directly into the wall. There is no need to use rawl plugs as the bolts cut there own threads into the mason wall. Overall, a quality product which is worth the purchase cost. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Good quality, strong and unobtrusive key box *by M***M on 3 July 2022* Needed to get a key box to securely store a key for an out building so decided to order this lock box. First of all, the instructions were very easy to follow to set up the combination and how to install. Took me all of 5 mins to attach to the location where I wanted it and job done. Good solid construction, water resistant casing and nice chunky buttons - so all in all very good. The only reason I have given it a 4 star rating is that, as others have commented, the passcode you choose for the box does NOT have to be put in the order you choose. For example if you chose the passcode 654321 - entering any combination of these numbers will unlock the box - so 265314 would also unlock the box. For me it’s not an issue, as the code we chose is only known to two people and the chances of someone guessing it is low, but be aware of this as if you want an exact code to be used in that order, this lock box is probably not for you.
