All riveting. Grabbed my attention right away.First Book: Hunted by Traci Hunter Abramson: SO good. Doesn't surprise me with this author. A murder mystery with a miracle within. I love the strength of the girl. Her ability to help catch her captures, almost getting killed, and finding a family in the process.Book tow: The death house by Gregg Luke: Whoa! Compelling. It was an intense mystery with a scientific twist. Fascinating.Book three: Haunting reminders by Stephanie black: I enjoyed this story. This was a new author for me. I pulled me in. It was more of a mystery and I found myself wondering if the twist really was her doing all the things but it wasn't her causing all the issues with her ex. The only complaint I have is that it didn't expound on the brewing love story.Book three: ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Fun collection for fans of mystery and suspense *by A***. on Reviewed in the United States on June 24, 2014* This was a compilation of three stories (each about a third the size of a full-length novel) by three different authors. I’ve read novels by each of the authors before, and my favorites are the full novels, but since each writer tends to produce books that are hard to put down, having something shorter had its benefits.Hunted, by Traci Hunter Abramson. In this story, a young teenager flees her step-dad and his friends, who are planning a mass shooting. She knows too much about their plot, so they try to take her out, but she runs into an FBI agent and his wife and they help her. The tension was good throughout the story as the good guys try to thwart the bad guys. Perhaps more than the suspense element, I liked the way the FBI agent, his wife, and Reagan (the runaway) became a family. Enough religious terms and situations that I would recommend this just for readers who share Doug and Jill’s LDS faith.The Death House, by Gregg Luke. Great mystery. Adam lives in a small town in the middle of nowhere, Nevada, right next to a house that’s been empty for 100 years. No one knows exactly what happened to the owners—their severed heads were found in the pumpkin patch, but the bodies disappeared and no one could find evidence of murder. Adam has a feeling that if he doesn’t figure out what happened, the same thing will happen again. The tension is masterful and I liked how everything was resolved. Interesting characters, fun setting, some humor, and it avoided the things I usually don’t like about contemporary YA. (I just can’t buy professions of undying love from modern teenagers. I mean really—you’re 17 and you’re falling in love for eternity? Makes my stomach churn.) There was a love interest in the book, but it wasn’t overblown—more a healthy, friendly relationship rather than an I’m-so-obsessed relationship, making this an enjoyable, hard-to-put-down story.Haunting Reminders, by Stephanie Black. This story was about Jamie, who moves back to her hometown after an absence of five years. Soon after, someone starts harassing the man who dumped her shortly before their wedding and his wife, the woman he quickly turned his attentions to. Who would want to hurt them other than a vengeful ex-fiancee? Jamie has to discover who is behind the letters, freaky gifts, and ultimately the attacks if she wants to save her reputation and her dream job. Since it’s a short book, there weren’t many possible suspects, so it was more of a “whydunit” than a “whodunit,” but still a fun read. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ first 2 stories were really good *by P***M on Reviewed in the United States on October 20, 2014* I really enjoyed reading the first 2 stories, however the third one I am really struggling to get through it. It is so mundane and lame. I'm sorry, I always feel bad when I give a bad review of a book but I just can't get through the last one by Stephanie Black. I hate the way the girl in the story doesn't stand up for herself when her mother in law and x-boyfriend blame her for harassing the new boyfriends's wife and himself. It is a very lame story line and I still haven't finished it. It bothered me so much that I finally skipped through the book and found out who was doing it and why and I am not going to go back and finish the last story. However, I really enjoyed the book by Traci Hunter Abramson and Greg Luke. I have loved reading Traci's books and this is the first one I have read by Greg. I would love to read more by him. He is pretty funny and made a very good story line.
