But the information on the internet and from careers advisors can be overhwelming, hard to find and sometimes conflicting! Meanwhile, everything I needed to know was here, in this book. While it has a reality-check, to make sure that you understand just how difficult the road ahead is, it offers information on every aspect (entry requirements, work experience, finance, the uni course, application, interviews, the lot!) and with a light-hearted approach written purposefully for young people. Best of all, though, it has stories from qualified vets and vets-in-training, talking about their experiences and what they did, so you are reassured that this information is valid and you feel like you're not the only one who's had to walk this long road. IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS, THIS BOOK WILL ANSWER THEM! ### ⭐⭐⭐ Some helpful things, some can be improved (A2 level student) *by E***R on Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 13 February 2015* As an A level student, I bought this book to prepare for my interviews. In this respect it is very helpful, with examples of possible questions and also topics you should know about. However there are a few things I have disagreed with too! The first is that it suggests it is a good idea for parents to ring up work experience placements, this is a big no no, as a potential vet ought to have the confidence to ring up places themselves, and placements will be put off if the parent rings up. Another thing is the work experience section that implies just a couple of days work experience at different vets practices will be fine, but actually Liverpool want a minimum of 4 weeks just at vets! It also does not mention Surrey but they have just had their first year in, and the next edition of this book is due to come out so that will probably include this information. Despite finding a few things wrong, I am still glad I bought it although it is no substitute for going to uni open days and looking at prospectuses. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ bought for my daughter *by D***7 on Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 8 March 2013* bought this form my daughter to help her in her chosen career - she is finding it very very helpful and keeps reading out information too me.
