## Description

desertcart.com - Dehumidifiers for Home and Basement

Review: 1500 ft models is what people should aim for in small/mid size apartments as their base - If you're someone that is looking to get a dehumidifier for a small space. I would say that you should start with these kind of models and work your way upwards. The most important thing about dehumidifiers is not the advertised amount of space it can work with, but how much water can it actually pull out of the environment. When you get into units that are advertised to work for a much smaller space, the problem that you will run into is that the unit is simply not capable of adding any significant difference of moisture to your home, even if the space is miles below what the advertised amount of space they cover is. Another unit that I have has the capability to pull around 24oz of water out of the air in a 24 hour timezone, which this unit can pull 422 oz. This unit is 40 dollars more than that other unit. Furthermore, for 10 dollars more, you can get a unit that pulls 30 pints out of the air with a 2000 ft model, with some caviats that you should consider. At least from using this unit for the past couple of weeks, I like the fact that this unit is really easy to manuver around and pick up. The wheels on the bottom make it easy to be able to pull around wherever you want it to go, and it's pretty light in comparison to some of the other units on the market. The dryer mode for clothes also works pretty well as long as the clothes are not soaking wet, it will dry out the clothes in the time that it gives out. You have to make sure though to place the clothes into a small space, or it'll take longer to dry as it's in a much wider space. It will make the room warmer when using the drying mode. I haven't noticed this in the other modes, but I'd assume this to be true for those modes as well since the unit is pulling moisture out of the air while also using a small amount of heat when it's in operation. The only draw back is the storage capacity of the internal unit if you don't use a draining hose. It holds around 3 Gallons, which sounds like a lot, but you'll be emptying this multiple times a day if you're using this in a space with a lot of moisture. Now the unit does not recommend using the draining hose into any containers, but the reason why is because if you keep the bucket on the same level as the unit, it won't drain into the bucket because the water needs to fall through gravity. I have a 5 gallon container that I have around for my rowing machine to fill it up every now and again, and what I've done is place the container on a level below where the humidifier is located. You want to make sure however you set up the washer that the hose is able to naturally let the water fall into your bucket, or it'll just default to using the internal bucket instead. Overall, I'd say for the price to performance this is a great unit. If you have good airflow in the room it will get your humidity down to 45%, but without any good airflow it'll be harder for it to drop to those levels, as I've only gotten down to a bit below 50% otherwise with a poorly ventilated apartment. This is also a fantastic unit to save a bit of money to help dry your clothes in an enclosed space.
Review: Little powerhouse - We've been going through a very humid period here in California but have never found the need for a dehumidifier. We wanted to get "our feet wet" with a smaller, reliable unit with good features, such as the ability to show the humidity level and a reliable timer system so we can "set it and forget it". Bonus would be the ability to pipe the water out elsewhere so we don't have to rely on the built-in reservoir. This little power house fit the bill -- small foot print, very quiet, and feature rich. It shows you the humidity level with a digital display, plus a nice bright LED that shows different colors depending on high, medium, or low humidity. It also has a timer for up to 24 hours of use, and most importantly -- it has a cut-off if the reservoir fills to the max, so it doesn't overflow! We've been running this thing continuously for a month since we got it, and it has not hesitated. It continues to pull full buckets of water out of the air over a day or two, reliably measures humidity, and stops when it is at full. I've never had a spill or drop of water that's not due to our own mistake in removing the reservoir and emptying it. If you are looking for a medium size, non-commercial dehumidifier, look no further. It has all the features you need, and just falls shy of the range of units which have phone app control. This one is fully "manual" and you can only control it via the buttons on the unit itself. This works for us as we are wary of having too many "smart" devices around the home which require an internet connection to work. This thing just keeps plugging away as long as you leave it on. Highly recommend!

## Questions & Answers

**Q: When I connect the drainage tube the bucket still fills and the dehumidifier shuts off. How it correct this?**
A: There is a plastic piece that needs to be removed for you to use a drain hose to the dehumidifier. I did the same thing too, not sure why it continued to fill up. Please look at your instruction guide.

**Q: I bought this for my basement and it’s been running for 2 days hooked to a pump. 80% humidity starting, how long until 35% on average?**
A: Depends on how big the basement is.. I bought one for a 2k sqft basement and it does next to nothing. Sometimes it doesn't even keep up the humidity actually goes up.

**Q: What is wattage?**
A: It doesn't state, but the average wattage for a dehumidifier is 483w. Hopefully this answers your question.

**Q: The tank is so small, is there a model with a larger one?**
A: I don’t think so. It is small but it’s still very much worth the price. It’s small but it’s a powerhouse. I absolutely love it and despite the tank size, it’s still pulling water from 2000 Sq. Ft. It doesn’t fill up terribly fast, it’s not like you’re dumping it constantly. Hope this helps!

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Compact and efficient
*by A***Y on September 1, 2023*

I recently purchased 2 of these dehumidifiers and I must say, it works exceptionally well. This appliance has been a game-changer for me, especially in controlling the humidity levels in my basement. The dehumidifier effectively removes excess moisture from the air, making my living space much more comfortable. It has noticeably improved the air quality, reducing that sticky feeling during hot and humid summer months. One of the standout features of this dehumidifier is its ease of use. The controls are straightforward, and I can set my desired humidity level with just a few button presses. The water tank is easy to access and empty, and the unit even has a convenient indicator that lets me know when it's time to empty the tank. In terms of noise, this dehumidifier operates quietly, making it suitable for use in bedrooms or living areas without causing any disruption. L Overall, I couldn't be happier with my dehumidifier. It's a reliable and effective solution for maintaining optimal humidity levels in my basement. If you're looking for a dehumidifier that gets the job done efficiently, I highly recommend giving this one a try.
