The maximum slab it would be able to lift is 500mm.Regards John J **Q: Can this tool be used to lift a paving slab that has sunk a little** A: You would have to remove the mortar around the dropped slab, then the lifter would be able to remove the slab. You should establish why the slab has dropped but provided there is not an underlying problem (e.g. collapsed or inadequate bedding) you should be able to re-bed the slab on fresh mortar using the lifter. **Q: Can this lift a slab already in place, I need to lift a slab to repack the sand to raise it slightly?** A: Only if you can scrape away the mortar on two sides of the slab so that you can allow the two edges of the tile lifter to grip the edge of the slab you are lifting. I have been doing exactly that today myself and lifted seven slabs successfully. The lifter grips well enough that you can wriggle the slab free without removing all the surrounding mortar. **Q: I have a brick in my path that I need to get up to relay as it has slightly sunk. Will this device pick up just 1 (small housebrick sized) brick?** A: It will certainly pick up a house brick no problem. The brick will have to be loose & have a gap of 2-3 mm at each end in order for the grabbing blades to get a grip.
