It does feel a little sticky to the touch when it dries on the lids but I assume this is to make sure that your eye shadow stays in place. I recently tried lash extensions but had a serious irritation and inflammation and had to remove them asap. So, between the product and eyelash extensions I would say that the latter are far more likely to cause irritation.
