In spite of its lightness it is sturdy and safe. I often have balance problems but I feel secure, even on the top step. My kitchen cupboards reach to the ceiling and these are just the right height. They are very well designed. The wide top step and the high handrail make these steps easy and secure to use. I wish the orange coloured sponge was black but I am glad I didn’t let it put me off. We keep these downstairs but they are easy to carry upstairs if needed. Our old 2 steps were so heavy I would take risks rather than go down for them so these may well be preventing accidents. I’m not going to be able to carry them upstairs as I’d hoped. If you’re an older person like me looking for lightweight ladders these are not it. However if you are young and strong they are a good purchase.
