## Questions & Answers

**Q: Other than the 48khz/16bit limitation, what differences in sound quality are there between this and the full-sized Hifimediy Sabre (uae23)? thanks.**
A: The uae23 has slightly better specifications due to a newer generation USB receiver that provides lower jitter. Also it's worth noting that the Tiny doesn't respond to system volume level, meaning the volume up/down hotkeys on the computer will not work. The uae23 responds to system volume adjustments.

**Q: Greetings. are there any format limits to this dac? i mainly want to just use it with flac. Also, does it work with Windows 8.1 or 10? Thanks!**
A: It supports FLAC and all normal files up to 48kHz, so if you have any high resolution 96 Khz or above files, then they will be down sampled. It also doesn't support DSD files. Works with Windows 8, 10 and Linux.

**Q: Will it work on Samsung Note 10.1 2014?**
A: You'll need an adapter since it's got a full sized USB connector. If all you'll be using it for is the note I'd go for this one.http://www.amazon.com/HiFiMeDIY-Android-Digital-Converter-PCM2706/dp/B00FJSEAZ4/ref=sr_1_1?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1406420738&sr=1-1It's has the proper sized USB connector. The PCM2706 is a pretty well supported chip in Linux, the drivers are built into the kernel. It's just a matter of if the Android build Samsung uses for your tablet has the USB DAC functionality enabled. It works just fine on my Samsung Galaxy S3 phone, so I'd say there's about a 99% chance it'll work.Keep in mind that these cards are NOT designed to be connected directly to headphones. They are designed to generate a line-level signal to be feed to a dedicated headphone amp/amp.(Read: Headphones plugged directly into this USB DAC will probably sound like crap.)

**Q: How much power must the device's USB port supply? My tablet has only a "low power" USB port that supplies a maximum of 2.5V not the normal 5V.**
A: You might be confused with mA, all USB ports supplies 5V. 500mA is standard USB, however some devices can only deliver 250mA or so. This DAC only uses about 30mA, however the tablet might think that it uses more. This is the case with some iPhones, - however we haven't experienced this with any Android tablets.
