Q: Can this be used with portable radio cassette player, sorry but not too well up on modern things. Usual earphones keep falling out so trying head

A long as it has a mini jack input then yes you can. One thing I would say is that if you plan to wear them for a reasonable amount of time they are not very comfortable as the foam is quite thin. If you plan on more than 20 mins or so I would suggest paying a little more and getting a slightly better padded set.
