The color choices look the same so I did not realize I had a choice. I Should have ordered each separately so that I could get different colors. I got exactly what I was trying to avoid (both the same color).My dog is male and I realize he does not care, but I would rather people not automatically think he is a girl. (his fur keeps it from being obvious) Other owners should not be confused even for a second when first introducing their own dog. Whether this convention is correct or not to some, it is a reality. That aside, he loves his new collar -maybe he prefers pink ;)I charged it for about a half hour. The charge light starts red and goes out after it is charged. I do not know how long it lasts, but I have used it for 45 minutes and it is still bright.The light is strong on the battery side and fades to the other. It has three options when you click the rechargeable pack, fast flashing, slow flashing,a constant, and off. It is bright enough so he can be seen on night time walks by people, cars and dogs alike. The size XL fits my medium dog well. (58lbs and a lot of fur). The build quality is nice but it does not seem heavy enough for a strong puller like our dog. We use a harness to attach his leash anyway, so was a non issue for us.If I knew the light wasn't consistent I would have purchased two smaller sized ones and daisy chained them together. (my dog is medium size and I purchased a XL) Please see the photo for actual size.
