It looks expensive - but isn't. It's very stylish and doesn't look plastic at all. It pours perfectly and itsn't noisy. It's just the right size - 1.5L. It did leave a smell of plastic when I boiled it out, which I did 3 times before I used it, but it certainly doesn't smell of plastic now - which is why you're advised to boil it first. I had to try 3 kettles before I was lucky enough to get this one - and they all had something wrong with them so I feel very lucky that I found this one.
