Easy to use, and not too heavy.It could do with a guide as to how much litter to put in, but it is easy enough to guess if you have been using litter trays for a while.To use:Simply open the lid, put the litter in, make sure the scoop tray with handle is in, close the lid and leavewhen it is time to clean the litter, simply roll to the left all the way (slowly), roll back to the right and a little further to the right to level the litter, the use the handle to remove the scooper tray and all the clumped wee litter and all the poop is in the scoop tray which can then be disposed of easily.There is s video on Amazon from another reviewer which shows how to do it too.No more sifting through stinky litter with a glorified kiddy spade, no more disturbing the litter which increases the smell, and no more dropping litter all the way to the bin. The handled scoop is solid, nowhere for the litter to fall outTo Clean:The handled scoop is easy to clean when you want to.The lid and the base seperate and the solid filer / grill comes out too - so can be rinsed like any other cat tray.For those who have never used a litter tray with lid:My kittens were used to an open tray when they came to us, and wen straight into the closed litter tray ( another one, different to the Roll'n Clean) with no bother.When we decided to give the roll'n clean a go, they used it without any trouble.Caution:The unit is large - we bought the regular and it is about the size of a normal lidded cat litter box, however the internal space is smaller than the outside, due to the solid filtering mechanism, about a quarter smaller on the inside.This is fine for us, as we have one slim cat and one larger cat, so the slim one has no trouble using it.There is a Large option, which may be better for owners of Large cats - however I would count on the unit being much larger than the standard lidded litter tray, so be sure to have enough space.The hole is on the wide side of the box, not the narrow side, so the depth it uses is less, but hte width may be more than you are used to.It is very light, yet sturdy, and easy to roll, even with cat litter in.ANNOYED:I paid 29.99 for it, and it arrived really quickly - a couple of days, but I write a review right away only to find Amazon have discounted it to 25.43 (valid as of 26th September 2014 in the UK)It is still about 2x as expensive as other lidded cat litter trays, so perhaps you might wait until the technology is not so new and the price comes down ( already decreased by 18% in the last 5 days!) ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Much easier and much less smell than a traditional tray! *by on Reviewed in the United Kingdom 15 June 2013* I have tried both open and flap trays/boxes in the past. I currently have a little kitten who is able to hop in and out of this easily. He's about 10 weeks old now. Catsan clumping litter works great with this tray. It clumps the waste and after you've turned it over, you just pull out a drawer and bag it/whatever you normally do with your cat's waste. There is no smell off this tray even though it doesn't have a flap or carbon filters. I'd just say - remember to top up the litter as the clumping litter means it does go down a bit when you empty it and kitties do like to dig around. I just tilt it back and tip some extra in. Some of the other reviews say it is poorly made but I disagree. It's about the same as any other moulded plastic product. I can't see any problems with the plastic locks if you make sure they're fully back before you take the top off. Just be careful with it as you would with anything made of plastic. Also, I'd say it's very easy to clean. I like to use disinfectant wipes once a week for a full clean. Make sure you let it dry or wipe it dry before you put more clumping litter in or it will stick to the dampness!Overall, I think this is a really good product - I've had 4 cats over the years and have tried lots of different styles of tray/box etc. I like this the best and living in a 2 bed apartment I can't afford for there to be any smell.UPDATE: This has been in use a month now. Really easy to deal with, still no smell even though my cat is some sort of poo machine! No quality problems - all locks intact. Really pleased with it.UPDATE FEB 2016: Box is still going strong, has been in constant use since purchase. The quality is great, all locks still intact etc. no parts have failed :-) ### ⭐ Not without its problems *by on Reviewed in the United Kingdom 10 April 2016* The idea is great makes an horrible job a little less unpleasant I really couldn't go back to a rack and shovel.You need to experiment with different types of clumping litter as some can be very stubborn and will just stick to the bottom, tried sainsburys, pets at home and various branded all didn't work too well, Tescos clumping has been by far the best where the others fail with this system Tescos seems to stick far less aggressively to bottom.Why one star? The construction is weak, the design problem lays with the sifting part, the sifting piece is a one part affair that folds to form a right angle in the inside of the box. I say folds because that exactly what it does, no hinge just ultra thin score in the one piece sifting part. As you can imagine you will need to regularly clean the box and its inners. Over the space of the 3 months I've had it the score in the folding siv is slowly turning into a detachment you can clearly see the stressed plastic in my photo. The catches are weak, you have three of them to keep the top bolted to bottom.To sum upProsGreat conceptGood removal of waste providing it doesn't get stuckConsWeak design it will not last long.
