It cannot be used with an extension lead. **Q: Why are allllllllll comments about USB? and not a single comment about the item on sale which is a wifi extender** A: I would guess it is because whoever listed this used the bar code from an older product that was a USB socket (possibly to garner the reviews). This is a fairly new product (2017) and there are some reviews on this page from as far back as 2014. This is extremely misleading for customers and shouldn't be allowed. **Q: how does the broadband get injected into the circuit? does it work with existing injectors like the TP-Link av600 powerline?** A: The unit simply acts as a WiFi range extender, you hook it into your current WiFi network either by logging in to the open BG network you will see listed on your available WiFi networks , you will see it when you first fire them up or reset the unit, and then telling it/them which WiFi network to connect to and provide the password, alternatively you can use the WPS on your router and the unit. You devices will then transparently connect to the extender when you roam it becomes the stronger signal for your WiFi device. Basically, the unit is connected, via WiFI to your WiFi router, as would any other device be, and your own devices can then connect to it, and it acts like a passthrough, so your traffic gets sent to the router/internet etc... **Q: worked o.k. up to now but now the blue light keeps flashing, any ideas please as to rectifying it. Ron** A: In agreement with other correspondents it may have lost the Wi-fi signal from your router. Or may just need rebooting, happened to mine a couple of times. Have reverted to a plug in extender as didn’t find this particularly reliable. Decided to replace it as the deal was good. Fitted in minutes and paired with WiFi easily to give good coverage in the garden.
