Asking for my wife!!** A: No, you won't get any mess from this product. Once it goes on to your hair it fixes quickly and will only come out with shampooing. And your wife will only get it on her fingers if she touches it - after which she can brush or rinse it off. It won't cause any staining, and it won't run if she gets her hair wet. I use it to touch up the grey gap in my parting, and it works brilliantly for that, easily tiding me over one or two weeks, and genuinely no one would guess it was a touch up job.
