Review: First impression: I really like these strings - I've heard good things about these strings, and I thought I'd try them out as replacements for a set of D'Addario phosphor bronze EJ16 strings. Both sets of strings were medium light (12s). I was using a Faith Naked Mercury - a mid-range parlour sized guitar, which I mainly use for picking (a little strumming with fingers, but I don't generally use a plectrum). I don't know how this review would translate to a larger bodied guitar (but I intend to try them on a couple). My first impressions: I really like the tone. They don't have that jangly new sound of freshly changed strings, which doesn't really work well for my style of play. I'm not sure I'd describe them (as some others have) as "bright". They seem to have a fairly earthy sound to them. Good across the tonal range. Plenty of clarity, but not really brightness. They're a delight to play: responsive and tactile. I don't do much string bending, so can't comment on that. If you're doing simple fingerpicking (folk, blues, etc), these are definitely worth a shot.
