For this product, it ran for three weeks in an area of holes. Even one foot away from an active hole it did nothing but hum every 20 seconds.. Trying to keep away from poison, but I have found Omega strychnine is the only viable product for most any burrowing animal like mice, voles and pocket gophers.I ordered this based upon only positive reviews and I have to ask, just how do these people know the varmints are really gone? ### ⭐ I would not recommend this device *by L***E on Reviewed in the United States on October 20, 2017* I've had a problem with a gopher(s) for about 6 weeks. I'm using the Sonic Solar Powered Repeller as instructed and this device has no effect. I used one unit for about a week in close proximity to a gopher hole and the gopher's activity remained unchanged. After the first week I put down a second unit hoping that with two devices in the ground would surely increase the effectiveness of the devices. In fact the gopher(s) went towards the devices and tunneled right next to each of the units (see photo). After 3 weeks of use, it's obvious the Sonic Solar Powered Repeller is ineffective or perhaps the gopher(s) is/are hearing impaired. Save you money, I would not recommend this device. ### ⭐⭐⭐ Helps to manage them...but not totally stop them. *by P***F on Reviewed in the United States on October 22, 2017* There is something slightly suspicious about all of the 5 star and 1 star reviews. Makes it look like this is an all or nothing product.However, used in conjunction with gopher poison, they seem to be effective once you clear the active ones within the perimeter of your yard and establish a perimeter with these stakes. I live next to a neighbor who's yard is overly infested and I've been battling them for years. You can never truly get rid of them, but you have to manage them. And this product seems to keep them out once I've established that they were no longer in the main area of my yard. The solar is a plus or a minus depending on where you place the spikes as they need a fairly sunny area to maintain effectiveness. I'm learning and now rotate them periodically to keep them effective. Nothing seems to totally stop them if they want get into your area. But, as I mentioned, I use poison to kill them in the yard and have placed the spikes along the perimeter from which they enter. They make a small buzzing sound which you could compare to crickets. Annoying if you let it get to you, but not so bad to enjoy the area if you're sitting out in the area. Plus, you can turn them off if you truly want to have some quiet. Seems to be working...for now (little critters are sure industrious). I'll be buying some more as I'm seeing the light with both poison and these spikes.
