It’s lightweight and water based, which made me think it wouldn’t moisturize my hair like I wanted bc I’m used to using heavy oils and thick butters but I was wrong lol. It has a good amount of slippage and gave my curls a little bit of definition but I wear protective styles so I wasn’t depending on that benefit much. It also has a really clean and light floral scent. This made my dry ends feel like brand new hair lol. I heard it also gets rid of fairy knots but I can’t confirm bc I recently trimmed my ends so it hasn’t got to that point yet. I’ve tried similar products with mixed results, but the large bottle seemed worth a shot for my 4C hair. After a week of use, I’ve had no buildup and my hair feels noticeably softer. It doesn’t have much scent—I almost wish it did—but it works well, especially paired with my almond oil. It didn’t make my hair greasy at all, but the consistency of the product was thinner than I expected. I haven’t used it to find my curls just yet, but I look forward to using other Pattern products. The price was far better than my local beauty supply.
