They do NOT deter them one single bit! They literally come right back the moment you stop spraying! But it will run them out of their hiding spots. I had somewhat of an infestation behind my shutters and porch light. This ran them out where they ran onto the sticky traps I had to eventually partner with this spray! The spray alone did not help. But it will flush them out so you can catch them on sticky traps used for mice. This is how I finally ended my creepy lizard problem.
