I've actually used Nottingham as a backup when dealing with stuck fermentations using other yeasts, and on many occasions the Nottingham restarted the ferment and finished off with no issues. Has a fairly neutral flavor profile and high alcohol tolerance. English style in general. Seems to be an excellent Irish Red Ale combo- probably has become my go-to yeast for Irish Red. Settles down well post fermentation. Very little comes through the racking tube when bottling. I brew 7-10 days in primary / two weeks in secondary, so that helps settle yeast out, too.
