24 Hours in Paris

Buy this book!
This is one of the most well-written and engaging pieces of fiction I have ever read! Just another chapter turned into me not being able to put this book down. The only spoiler I will give is that you will need to buy the sequel, "24 Hours in Italy," to learn how Mira and Jake's story ends.

A fun romp through Paris
I was there with them the whole time- the city, the romance, the food. Completely enjoyable book! Loved it from start to finish.

Tres bien!
Having read and enjoyed Romi Moondi's writing for years, I was excited to read 24 Hours in Paris. I won an advance copy from the author and sat down with it as soon as it arrived. The highest praise I can give any book is that I read it straight through and don't put it aside for something else. I couldn't stop reading 24 Hours in Paris and it didn't disappoint! The novel both is both a love letter to Paris (the food, the sights, the food!) and it pays homage to the "Before" movies. Mira was relatable - someone with whom I would want to hang out - and I loved her smarts and snark. Jake was more than just the eye candy co-worker we meet early on and I enjoyed the Paris travelogue as we worked through Mira's bucket list as the 24 hours progressed. More, please!

Not worth the read
Who wouldn't love an unexpected 24 hours in Paris? Unfortunately, I found reading this book to be a bit of a disappointment. It sounded great and like the perfect setup for an unexpected romance. However, I did not like the characters at all. Part of this may have been the writing style, which I also wasn't really a fan of. It also seemed very unbelievable to me at times. Overall, this book was a miss for me, and there are plenty of other Paris romances that are superior.

Cute book!
This was such a cute, fun book to read! I picked it up because I needed a book set in Paris (summer book challenge). I could see it perfectly in my head, witty banter between the main characters. I will definitely read the next book!

Sweet contemporary romance
I bought the paperback in a brick and mortar store. I was attracted to the cover (who says you can't judge a book by it's cover?) It depicts a couple from differing cultural backgrounds with the Eiffel tower in the background. I fell in love with the characters and the author's ability to show the reader that there is always more than meets the eye when it comes to a couple and whether they will be compatible. I also enjoyed the feeling of Paris itself being a character. I've never been but I'm dying to visit. 24 Hours in Paris is a sweet, romantic read that's also very humorous. I enjoyed the book very much.

The Map to Love: A Review of Romi Moondi’s “24 Hours In Paris”
I’ve never seen the movies “Before Sunrise” or “Before Sunset,” however this book seems to pay homage to those films. The plot centers around two co-workers who are on a business trip in Paris. Mira Attwal is a woman reeling from her decision to break from South Asian tradition and cancel her upcoming wedding. She wants to make decisions based on what is best for her future - whatever that may be.Jake Lewis is a salesman at her company. He is immediately portrayed as a ladies man who doesn’t care much for relationships that last longer than one night. Jake is attractive and he knows it. He’s not ready for a long-term relationship. He’s interested in enjoying as many women as possible, starting with a beautiful French waitress.Through a twist of fate, Mira and Jake end up being stuck in Paris for an additional day, while the rest of their colleagues fly home. In that time, these two people learn a great deal about one another.Mira is drawn to Jake, but she doesn’t think that anything will come of her attraction. She is more focused on completing her Paris Bucket List. She’s mapped out several places to visit in the romantic city and she plans on ticking off as many boxes she can. She never expected to have company during her tour of the city. Jake only plans to spend a few hours with Mira until he meets up with his French waitress. Things quickly change for both characters.Mira finds out that spending time with Jake is getting much more pleasant than she expected. The more they talk, the more they uncover about one another. Jake is starting to feel the same way about spending time with Mira. Although he had other plans for the evening, he eventually decides to spend all of his time with Mira. Their conversations are intriguing to him. Along the way they experienced food, fun, a lot of pastry and a good amount of wonderful conversation. Their love story plays out over the course of one amazing day. Mira is learning more about herself and her needs, while Jake is learning that being with one woman might not be so bad after all. This book is well written. It gives you a solid sense of how these two people came to feel about one another. It is a slow burn romance. It does take its time to get to the romantic part of it, but you do enjoy the flirting. You enjoy the banter between the two. You see gestures between Mira and Jake that demonstrate their growing feelings for one another. These two unlikely individuals who didn’t know one another the day before, end up finding something wonderful in the other person.I have to say that I did not expect to enjoy it as much as I did, however I was pleasantly surprised. The narrative did seem to drag on for a little while and there were times when the action slowed down. Nevertheless it was worth the wait. There are several swoon-worthy moments. It is a good read and I would recommend this book to people who enjoy romance.(Note: Jake Lewis is going on my Book Boyfriend list.)

Romi does it again!
I've been following Romi Moondi for about 15 years now, since the days of our personal blogs on Wordpress. It was clear from the start that she had a great deal of smart, funny, moving and interesting things to say. The wisecracking comic nerd girl is a type I've always loved, and Romi is SO good at bringing such characters to life. Whether overeating at a family wedding as an 8 year old, trying to work around the pressure of traditionally arranged wedding, saving the universe from evil, or partying outside a musty old bookshop in Paris, Romi's characters have just the right amount of self-reflective sarcasm, worldliness and historical intelligence to keep the reader engaged. 24 Hours in Paris is her latest and greatest. She was kind enough to send me an advanced reader's copy of 24 Hours in Paris.Mira, marketing exec., our heroine, and Jake, the hunky and conceited co-worker, miss their flight home from a group business trip. Happenstance brings them together, frugally sharing a seedy hotel room while waiting to catch the next day's flight. They spend almost zero time at said room, rather bopping all around the City of Light in an all-nighter of talking, eating, talking, drinking, talking, touring historic sites, sharing personal history and growing more intimately acquainted. Nicely paced, heartwarming, funny and delicious (literally) is this romcom romp.

Great Rom Com
I love a good Romantic Comedy and this is one of the best ones I have read to date. I not only love the story of Jake & Mira but I love how the chapters are broken out - what a great way to tell a story. It's also very evident of the author's love for Paris and makes me want to go back and visit all the spots mentioned! Travel bug ignited!!!

24 more hours please!
I devoured this book like a delectable Paris croissant. I loved every moment. The witty dialogue is truly Hollywood worthy, and the richly illustrated portrait Moondi paints of Paris sent the city of love straight to the top of my travel bucket list.Side note - I haven't craved food from a novel like this since Eat, Pray, Love.

Too flimsy
It's a pleasant story but so light and predictable , I would not buy other booksThere is much about Paris but that too is superficialMight be good for a preteen!

A great escape!
It’s been a while since I’ve had time to disconnect with a book that isn’t a parenting guide! It was really funny and light and a fast read…couldn’t put it down. Loved every second and I found myself wishing there were more than 24hrs in a day!!! Well done to the author!!!
