Well worth it. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Low budget price means it needs some finessing *by P***I on September 11, 2024* So I've bought plenty of stuff on Amazon, but never felt compelled to write a review until this come-along winch because I can help others with a couple pointers. I bought a "used" return, and as I expected it's actually still brand new. But it only took me all of 5 seconds to figure out *why* it was returned! The bolt through the drum was over- tight and bone dry, zero lubrication - which means one needs Herculean strength to pull the wire out! Tip 1: Pull that bolt part way out and spray some WD40 Lithium Grease in for lube. When putting the nut back on, remember that the drum needs to turn, so just snug (perhaps some blue Loctite while you're at it) instead of Hercules tight. Tip 2: If you have any level of arthritic fingers, you'll struggle, too. Perhaps the release will break-in more and be easier to hold open after more use, but holding that little second release lever open while spooling out the wire is a pain, so far. It'll do the job I need it for and I know I'll find more uses for it with other projects. But out of the box, it'll need a bit of fine-tuning to operate well. A wrench or two (I only needed one), aerosol lithium grease and some Loctite so the nut doesn't loosen and fall off (or check it periodically and before each use).
