They are good quality cables, which are somewhat beefier than the Apple cable and have a nice nylon sheathing and they work fine. I only use them to charge the phones and they are great for that purpose. Based on a few months of use, they seem to be made well and durable.So why dock them a star? Other generic cables offer better quality (thicker cable, etc) and longer lengths for about the same price. Also, the cables that I received are about 3 inches shorter than the standard Apple cable, which shouldn't seem like it is a big deal, but we had the cables permanently plugged into the wall and set up a certain way, and these were almost too short for that, so be aware of that.Otherwise, these cable are nice and work fine.
