Can be great value when fresh; 2nd box ick!

My first box arrived fresh and were very delicious eggs that are a nice multi bite size. The peanut butter inside was slightly soft and pleasurable to eat. We have traditionally enjoyed the flat variety of Reece’s Peanut butter eggs but these showed up and were a much better per egg value. They are probably smaller than the flatter variety - but those have been shrinking over time. These eggs are not the 1” sized eggs, they are a hefty 2” long and 1.5” across. The box of fresh eggs were easy to unwrap and enjoy. The second box was not fresh. It had apparently had at least one chance to melt and the eggs were distorted. The wrappers were stuck to the chocolate and required a lot of work in pealing the bits off. The peanut butter was hard and not as flavorful. I was embarrassed to give them away. So they sit...

Lol I must be the only one that had a positive experience. I had one of these at my parents house while visiting. For the Easter festivities they had a bowl of these out. I had one and loved it so much I dove for my phone to order a package from Amazon. I will admit 48 is a bit much and I’ll probably give these away at work or something. It’s understandable that some orders will melt. It’s milk chocolate, and hot delivery trucks will cause this. Mine however, arrived to Escondido California, no problems. I even forgot about it in my mailbox for a couple days and when I opened, all the eggs were perfectly intact. No melting no damage. I ate one right away. Just as delicious as the one I had that day at my parents. I put them in the fridge because, just like regular Reese’s, they taste better chilled. They’re even more amazing cold I can say for sure. I’ll add pics later for proof that they arrived just fine. For those that ordered without having one before, that’s not real fair to give a negative review for the taste your thing. Try them before ordering!!! These are NOT the flat shaped eggs, they are Cadbury Egg sized.

Maybe it depends on the vendor

I did read many of the reviews on this product, and they certainly were a mixed bunch of goods and bad so I knew I would be taking a chance; however, since it was "post season" when I ordered there wasn't much choice of product.I was *not* one of the lucky ones. My box was apparently on display previously because it had been completely opened and taped together around the top. The "best before" date on the box is Oct 2020 and the eggs themselves are in good shape; BUT I have a feeling this box may have been a "compilation" of a number of leftover product from other boxes. Of the 3 I have opened so far the peanut butter "cream" is dried out, not creamy, and tastes slightly stale, so I'm disappointed to say the least. I believe that in the future I will stick with the flat eggs in boxes of six that are in the stores, even though they are a lot more expensive than the box of 48 offered here. I also wrongly assumed there would be more peanut butter than the flat eggs, but it is not so. Live and learn.
