With a defined attack, short sustain, and darker tonal character, Evans Hybrid snare drumheads can be tuned low to get a fat, deep “thump” or tightened up for a perfectly subdued “crack”. **Q: Is this a Kevlar head?**
A: yep

**Q: Can this be used on a marching snare with only 1 rim?**
A: No.

**Q: would this head work well for my Pork Pie birch/maple wood snare drum 13x7 trying to get a very snappy sound out of it as close to the marching snare**
A: Evans actually has a marching style head for drum set called the frosted Hybrid.  For a 13” snare you’ll want part number B13MHG.  For a 14” snare you’ll use B14MHG.

**Q: Does this head sound good on a wood snare? Since it's a kevlar weave would it eat away at the bearing edge?**
A: It sounded pretty good. I used for a military drum and bugle corp.

This was a pleasant surprise. I normally use Remo heads on my snare. I placed this on my steel Piccolo with the Remo hazy bottom. It’s a 13 inch snare. Super bright, a very high crack Pitch sound. I love the sound, as it reminds me of the 311, Deftones and Spin Doctors. I play death metal so no pitch is too high. lol Purchase this! you will not be disappointed.
