Can ride alittle on the cut so try and take out any play you can anywhere and you shouldn't have a problem. Yeah it takes sometime time to cut them but worth it in my opinion. Review: Pretty Neat Device - I used it with a Husqvarna Rancher 460 chain saw w/24 in bar. The log is hardwood: pecan. I made the planks with this vertical chainsaw mill (you can find how to videos on you tube under "vertical chainsaw mill" I didn't use a ripping chain, might have made for cleaner cuts. My result was the rough cut bar top shown in the last picture. For the price, this is great. If you have to mill a lot of wood - not your best option. However, there is a major manufacturing defect. The pivot tube is to large for the pivot bolt. This creates a great amount of slop in the pivot which would make consistent straight cuts impossible. The second defect is the saw clamp mechanism. The corners are to big to allow it to pivot, so the saw can only make a limited depth cut. I could have fixed this with a grinder to round off the corners a little. But because of the first issue I mentioned above, it was not worth the effort.
