The pictures speak for themselves, but I want to thank Maxboost for an AWESOME case. My phone fell out of my pocket while I was mowing my lawn in my zero turn Toro. It fell into the blade belt and the pictures show the results to the case. My phone was barely scratched!I've dropped my phone on cement more than once, and the case has never failed me. It's price is beyond reasonable and it feels like there's nothing on it.Thank you Maxboost! I just ordered a replacement. I'll be a longtime customer!

    Beautiful Case

Overall this case is really nice. It has a very slim fit to it and it is easy to put on and take off the phone. I have a silver iPhone and the case looks nice against the phone in mint green. The edges are raised up so if you drop the phone on the face it will not get a broken screen. I've had this case on my phone for a week and I have 2 minor complaints. First, the bottom of the case has great openings but is rough if you balance your phone on your thumb. Second, the rear of the case is not scratch proof. I am not rough with my phone but I have several scratches on the clear side of the case. One other thing I would like to mention is that after a week of using it does pick up debris in the case. It seems to get in around the camera part of the case because everywhere else fits snug. I really like this case aside from these minor issues and I will continue to use it.

My iPhone feels naked and exposed

*by B***R on Reviewed in the United States on May 6, 2019*

I’m frugal, but discerning. Having said that, however, I also eschew reading individual reviews, opting instead to place more importance on the product’s overall star rating and the number of reviews submitted to achieve that rating. So, I guess I’m discerning by my unwillingness to risk being dissuaded by subjectivity. I don’t always want to be swayed or dissuaded by contradictory opinions. It’s risky, because the descriptions of a product are often too vague and the pictures misleading or even inaccurate. When I received my case in an envelope large enough to fit accommodate a small dog, I immediately thought I had just received an empty package, it was so light. My review has one major qualification that needs to be made to explain anything perceived to be negative. I’m not a contrarian. This case received excellent reviews overall and a slew of them. I use an iPhone 7 Plus and before today, it had spent its life safely encased in an extremely bulky and ‘likely to survive a nuclear blast’ Otterbox Defender. It weighed a lot. But it had become an extension of my hand. I, of course, knew in my head that the new case was going to be considerably thinner. I wanted to give that a go. It’s an advantage, provided it safely protects your expensive connection to pretty much everything. I had scrutinized the description of the case, focusing on esoteric acronyms like GXD (which I initially and probably incorrectly thought was a shortening of Gel Drop Protection). I am a sucker for these pseudo-proprietary terms. If you’re trying to convince a prospective buyer that your product is unique, there’s going to be a fair amount of hyperbole. But I still enjoy these ‘unique’ feature descriptions. When I took my former case apart, I was briefly taken aback by the anorexic look of my iPhone. I was used to it wearing a fat suit that quadrupled it in size.It took me a moment to figure out what seemed like annoying, vestigial cellophane-type material. I recklessly took it all out. I couldn’t remember if it came with a screen protector and I had just inadvertently ruined it. I wouldn’t have used it anyway, because I always have tempered glass as a line of defense. I immediately was not pleased with the somewhat cheap-feeling, stiff plastic. I realize we don’t fork out $600 for aesthetics, but we want our phone to look good. I could see that this case at least wouldn’t make it look bad. The hard plastic had little give, forcing me to reluctantly use considerable force to situate it in the case. I’m anal about keeping my phone immaculate and having to cram it into unforgivingly stiff plastic didn’t make me happy. This was exactly why I never use a folio for my iPad. I only want to place my device in a case that welcomes it, not fight to keep it out. Once it was in, I spun I examined it from all angles. The gimmicky translucent back was a feature I actually wasn’t excited for. Why would I want to look at the back of my phone? With an open front, I suppose it helps provide symmetry, but not everyone is as meticulously careful with their phone as I am. Many people have numerous blemishes, even small dents, that are put on display with this case. And the glossy, clear plastic gets tacky after a lengthy texting session, as well as collects smudges and fingerprints that are highlighted by the translucent back. I think the black, matte border should have extended to the back, not only improving the feel, but making it seem like a more complete case.As I mentioned, I’d spent years with my phone surrounded by three heavy layers of hard plastic and silicone. I couldn’t fit it in my pocket comfortably, which was a definite negative, but when navigating the touch screen, the little extra girth helped keep the phone securely in my hands. This case, as I’ve been typing this excessively long review, has slipped forward a number of times and I feel cramped, like my thumbs are competing for real estate.I don’t mean to only point out the negatives of this case. It is not bad looking (if you’re not holding it) and it was clearly engineered well, the user reaping the benefits of the perfectly placed button covers that work beautifully, almost as if they were not covered by plastic. The maximum screen exposure gives you a better view of the front than many cases, but the exposure can also work as a negative, providing more surface area open to damage if dropped (this gel technology is not infallible, methinks). If someone handed me this case and asked me how much I think they paid, I would have guessed $10 to $15. Of course one day after I ordered the case, the price inexplicably dropped from $10 to $7. So, I would have been in the ballpark. If you’re not accident prone and do not unintentionally test the ‘gel drop protection’, it’s an adequate case. It takes full advantage of the phone’s sleekness, true to the description. The makers of the case underscore exactly that while also claiming that it provides superior protection. It has to be one or the other. It’s sleek, I won’t argue with that, but as far as protection and ‘enhanced grip TPU cushion’, I’m not convinced.I personally would not feel comfortable carrying this around, even given its minimalistic design that tightly fits around the phone and ostensibly makes it more manageable. Again, aside from my views of the clear back, the case doesn’t look cheap. It doesn’t feel cheap when the phone is in there, but by itself sans device, you can guess why an already comparatively inexpensive case suddenly dropped $3, a marked reduction for a $10 product.Bottom line, if you want maximum exposure for your screen, you’ll like this case. Will you feel that your phone is being adequately protected? That’s probably going to be a toss up. The border is raised, which allows you to set it down on a flat surface on its face without the screen touching down. That’s not a selling point for me. What I see is a whole lot of screen threatening to crack if dropped at the wrong (or right?) angle. Even with the Otterbox, the first thing I did when I bought it was carefully install tempered glass on the front and remove the expensive case’s provided screen protector. I recommend adding that extra layer, even if the border of the protector is annoyingly visible because 99% of the screen is also visible.A more concise bottom line. I won’t be using this case for fear of damaging the phone. I don’t feel secure holding it. I won’t sacrifice protection for a less substantial case after a prolonged diet. And again, some people might not want their backside exposed (on the phone, that is).A less severe tightness could be alleviated by an also sleek silicone-based second cover that would not only increase protection exponentially, but make it easier to hold and eliminate the tackiness of the back after extended use.So, I suppose my expectations were met, given the affordable price and the case not deviating tremendously from the provided description. The more optimistic me was disappointed that I wasn’t pleasantly surprised. I thought I wanted a slimmer case for convenience. It required trying out this case to fully understand that convenience can be overrated. I would never feel at ease with this case. But like most things, it’s completely subjective and boils down to specific needs and wants.
