I want to share a tip to get you through the most challenging aspect of the project, which is removal of the transponder (circled). It is heavily glued into a small space and can be difficult to remove. I used a utility knife/ box cutter to cut away the short ends of the encasement, then used 'goof off' brand adhesive remover to dissolve the glue on the long sides...it worked great. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Absolutely happy with the upgrade *by T***K on Reviewed in the United States 🇺🇸 on 7 October 2020* I bought two of these to replace the original set of keys for my '05 Porsche 911, and can't be any happier with the change. Both of my keys had cracked and one occasionally separated to spill out its guts in the parking lot. I was skeptical but the quality of the new units is superb and feels much better in my hand, with a studier and more attractive matte key fob. It took me about 30-40 minutes to change the internal parts out to the new unit, but I was quicker on the second one. By far the hardest part is removing the transponder in the original key, which as others noted is glued in. My method was to use a box cutter to cut out the narrow sides of the transponder, then score and carefully wedge away the plastic on the longer sides of the transponder. At first I was very carefully and light on my cutting, but realized quickly that I needed to be more forceful to cut away the surrounding plastic walls (where the transponder sits inside). Needle nose pliers help with the removing the battery contacts too. I was happy to find a new Porsche decal with adhesive backing in the unit as well to place on the key. You can either cut the key that comes with the new unit or simply transplant the original key to the new fob, which is what I did and was very easy (just keep an eye not to lose the spring that holds it in). I also kept and used the old silicone casing around the circuit board because it had a little lip that held the circuit board in, which the new silicone casing did not.
