My story: I bought this GooD4U dehydrator just over a year ago, and it worked well until (you guessed it) the one-year warranty ran out. The heating element quit, so it was blowing only cool air. I contacted the company and they got right back to me asking for details and wanting me to send the entire dehydrator back so they could "fix" it. I told them my husband was a fix-it guy, and could they please just send me a new heating element. With this question, I received NO further response! This tells me that when you send the machine back for fixing, they most likely pitch it and send you another one (getting them from China for a few dollars, and selling them for $145). It may sound great to get a new one each time you have an issue, but you have to pay shipping both ways and most likely a parts cost. The biggest issue I have is that we are filling our landfills with this type of garbage. Right now I plan to connect a heat lamp behind this dehydrator and see if I can still use it. If not, I'll look for one that is made in the US. Review: Great dehydrator - Be warned with 12 sq ft of drying space this is a sizeable counter top addition, I dislike that you cannot just turn it on and let it run, you have to set the timer for it to start running, but that is a nice safety feature (I can be forgetful) I have finally given it a break since I got it set up, and I have made some grawnola, bananas, apples, flax crackers, and a few other dried veggies for snacks and it has done an amazing job.
