Review: Just beautiful !!! - I rarely write reviews, but this really deserves it! Now, I can't speak to longevity, I've only had it for a few days, but I LOVE it !!!! I had a hard time seeing the digital numbers on my alarm clock on the dresser, and when I put it on my night stand it was to close and I had to raise my head, turn around and look. And it was to bright then. And yeah..ugly too. This clock manages to have the exact right illumination !!! It just GLOWS. You can clearly see the time, almost better at night than day! It is very bright, but in the way a glowing fire is. Its THERE, but it isn't a brightness that bothers you or lights up the room. Its almost soothing to look at for lack of better words. I just open my eyes, see the time, and go back to sleep, no raising up, twisting, squinting, etc. Its worth the expense of batteries, altho I hope they will last a good long time. And I hope the clock itself will last. A good thing is that it doesn't illuminate unless it is actually night time dark. When it is rainy or just "dim" in the room, the lights won't come on. And another thing, this is so timeless and classic looking. So much better than the digital stuff if you care about your room having that kind of style. Love it!

A: No. The illumination is set and can't be changed. But my husband is very sensitive to light and doesn't find it bothersome.

The outside diameter of the clock is 12.6“, this would include the full surface of the clock, should you need to measure the length where it rests against the wall. The depth of the clock measures approx. 2.4 inches.

**Q: In the description it states it will illuminate "from 6 to 12 months". What happens after that? I need to purchase another 1?**

The 6 to 12 month time frame refers to how long a set of batteries will typically last on average, though different usage circumstances and environments can cause this to deviate somewhat. There are 4 size C batteries that need to be installed on the back, so if these run out of battery after a period of time, you can simply replace them in order to ensure the product continues to illuminate in the dark.

**Q: why the lights not working even after replacing the batteries?**
A: there is a slide button that turns the lights off and on. Did you accidentally slide this switch to off?
