The pottery shaped Novo Eco Ceramic Handy Roaster is very easy to roast the beans at home. Inside the roaster is made into a waffle shape so that the beans can roast equally. The ceramic material is made from over 1280oC (2336oF) so that it has a really good durability and the thermal conductivity passes on to the beans. The cowhide leather grip on the handle protects your hands from burning at a high temperature and also gives a beautiful design. Roasting: conversion work to coffee beans from green beans. Popping effect by ceramic material. Sway the roaster from side to side in the formation of an eight over the roast after putting the green beans. Convenient outlet popping. **Q: Confirming this does not work on induction cooktop**
A: Only magnetic cookware work with an induction cooktop; this is ceramic, ergo it will not work with one.

**Q: Can anyone speak to how this compares to coffee roasted in a Whirley Pop?**
A: I've tried them both, and it's hard to say which I prefer more. They are both pretty equal; however, here are the pros/cons:
Cons:
1. You'll need a heating source
2. You have to shake/swirl throughout the roasting process
3. Handle is short, and that handle opening gets hot, so you'll need a bit
4. Small yield/small container
5. Pretty messy (chaff everywhere)
Pros:
1. You have complete control throughout the process
2. Uniform roast throughout the batch
3. Small easy to clean design
4. It doesn't overheat, so you can continue roasting over and over

**Q: How much can you roast at one time?**
A: I roast 1/3 cup at a time. I set the timer for 10 minutes. On a gas stove the coffee will be through the first crack and starting the second crack in that amount of time. For me this makes 2 pour over servings.

**Q: New to roasting and just got this...can an expert user post a more detailed written instruction on the tips and tricks of using this?  Thanks!!**
A: Far from am expert, but my best roasting experience was as follows: 
1. Used outside single burner on my grill and I recommend oven an mitt so that you don't burn yourself
2. Let it heat up some on the burner before adding beans
3. Pour in about 2/3 of a cup of beans once surface and tool are fairly hot
4. Shake and swirl them around enough to knock off chaff, but not lose beans everywhere. Do this until your desired time/crack.
5. Pour them out of the handle to cool

Es una excelente forma de acercarse al tueste de café, hay que practicar un poco para lograr un buen tueste. No viene con ningún tipo de instructivo ni nada por el estilo, pero como yo me acomodé fue dejando el tostador a fuego medio durante cinco minutos para lograr una buena temperatura antes de agregar el grano verde. Una vez vertido el grano hay que mover contínuamente con el mango en forma circular y siempre en la flama. A los pocos minutos se ecucha el tronido y, a partir de ahí dependerá el nivel de tostado que se busque, el tiempo que se deberá dejar al fuego, moviendo en todo momento.
