I loved it when I first got it. It was just what I needed to apply makeup as I am nearsighted and over 40. I travel about once a month for 4 days. I purchased this mirror in February. During my trip in July, I noticed that the light was not as bright as on the past. I thought that it just needed to be recharged. I recharged it on my return home. When I took my trip in August, for a very special occasion, the lights were almost imperceptible. The mirror was fully charged. I was very disappointed and struggled to apply my makeup and put in my contacts. I am now looking for a new travel mirror. I really liked this one.UPDATE: while shopping for a replacement travel mirror, I figured out what I was doing wrong!!I am So Happy!The brightness of the light is adjustable!! By holding down the power button, you can adjust the strength of the light shining around the mirror. Silly me! I wanted one side regular and the other side magnified for close work. Very simple. Very popular back in the old days. Today, most of them have this silly little round 10x mirror that sticks onto the regular mirror for the magnification. Those are HORRIBLE!!! First of all, they're too small. Secondly, 10x is WAAAY to close and you have to get so close to the mirror, you can't see what you're doing! Others do not have the magnifier side lit at all. I don't like the 'compact' mirrors..all 10x magnification and small. I finally found this mirror and it has everything I want! It's large enough for travel or for home. The lighting is perfect and has the usual 3 choices. I like that it doesn't use batteries and I can charge it and/or bring the cord and a USB outlet plug to use. And best of all, the other side is just as big and is only 5x magnified, so I can see close without having to practically put my nose on the mirror! I like this so much, I'm going to buy a second one for use at home/and a backup, because it was so rare in the sea of travel mirrors available out there! If I had one negative, it would be that there's no case for it and I'll have to figure out what to use to protect the mirror.
