I then wrap the stack of panels in a large towel. I put the food box on top of the wrapped ice panels. Next, I wrap a wire around the food box and ice packs like a gift. I also cover the dials completely (sides included) with thin cardboard and very sticky tape. I put all of this in a larger box. My cat has not been able to break in with all that, and the food stays cold for 16 hours at least. Recently one of the panels has repeatedly failed to open a couple times. (He used to break into it all the time.) **Q: Looking for advice with using C200 with two kittens... if they aren't both there when the door opens, one will eat both bowls.** A: I would recommend two separate feeders, and possibly one with a more precise timer. That way one kitten cannot eat both bowls at the same time. A few tweaks would improve the function and offer better performance. 1) As others have noted, the dials are timers and while not super complicated, it does require a moment of thought to ensure you have them correctly set. Also, the timers do not stop running once they reach "0". Since there is no off switch, you need to remove/change the battery once you're done. 2) The spring to open the lids is fairly timid. I did some test runs prior to going on an over night trip. I wanted to make sure it worked as intended and verify I was setting it up properly. The two kittens being fed from it, of course, were all over it, trying to open the feeder. They'd moved it such that it was no longer perpendicular to the wall, so the back edge of the feeder lid caught on the wall a bit and failed to open. No harm on a day when I was home, but that'd have been a problem were I not. I'd love it if the lid had a bit more snap to the opening. For what I needed, this was a welcome device. It was cheaper than hiring someone to come in twice while I was travelling, so the cost was justified.
