As you can see on one of the images on Amazon (image no 4), the length of the umbrella is 39 inches, and that is usually too long for a suitcase. USA? China?** A: Hello Andra,The umbrella is made in China. **Q: Does it auto close?** A: No, it does not AUTO close. A ribbed sliding handle section (with the auto open button) slides up the umbrella shaft and must be manually pulled down towards the handle to close the umbrella. It slides very easily but requires both hands to close...one on the handle and one on the ribbed sliding section. Total sliding distance is about 22 inches. In the past, I typicaly shook or spun the umbrella a bit to dry it off some before returning it to my golf bag. When I returned home, I reopened the umbrella and let it thoroughly dry before longer term storage. **Q: Will this mount to my Sun Mountain Cart?** A: Dear E,Thank you for your interest in Procella Golf Umbrella.
