I’m aware that it must release some pressure as otherwise I’d think it would be damaged** A: If you don't remove the cover from the Glass during decarboxylation, you would barely notice the smell during cooking. Once the lid is open, the smell comes out. There are three dents on the lid to balance the air pressure, you are right. Since POT by NOIDS cooks gently, the air exchange between in and out of the Glass is kept on a minimum level. If you want to avoid the smell, remove the lid after the herbs cool down to room temperature, or do this step outdoor when the herbs are still warm/hot. There are several Youtube reviews of POT by NOIDS, some of them talk about the smell, could be helpful. **Q: is this better than the merlin 400? The ease of decarbing and infusing makes it so easy to use and the finished product is excellent and much more potent than other machines i have used.
