Would this one fit the bill?** A: The big end is the size of 1 teaspoon. The smaller end I think is about the size of 1/2 teaspoon (I don't have a round 1/2 teaspoon to compare, but it is bigger than a 1/4 teaspoon). **Q: How is this different from a metal teaspoon measure? Does it have a "cutting" edge around the rim or something?** A: The one I bought did have a sharp edge which is a necessity for cutting melon balls but my unit was tossed into the garbage because the stem connecting the scoop to the handle was thin and bent with each scoop, in other words a real piece of crap from China. I would suggest you instead buy in-house at Target or Best Buy and Beyond for a quality product. Amazon should remove this item from their inventory. **Q: Does the scoop release melon balls easily? other brands have a hole at the bottom to prevent suction. the oxo does not appear to have holes.** A: I have never had a problem releasing the fruit from the Mellon baller. I like the OXO products as I have arthritis in my thumb joint and it is easy to hold this product. **Q: Would this work for making bourbon balls? I hand roll my candy and it is time consuming. The candy is a bit sticky though.** A: Interesting question. I think it would work fine but i would rinse it in water when the bourbon balls get sticky.
