Apparently there was talk of getting an upgrade through G Hub, but it never materialized. So that mean's it's firmware, not the sensor itself. And also means all the G MX518 Legendaries are 16k. For reference, there are three MPNs: 910-005542, 910-005545, 910-005544. These are all the same but have a different model numbers for different international markets. I wish I could could give a more certain answer, but the info is not readily apparent. I was curious about this myself when looking to buy here. Hope that helps. **Q: can the button be programmed to open certain applications in windows?** A: Yes, you can fully customize every button. You can reassign any button to a different button inlcuding keyboard buttons, you can also make macros, like shift+alt+tab and use it with a single click. There are far more options and tons of features, including other software like discord, steam, etc. **Q: I got 2nd replacement and there is still some secondary noise sometimes when left clicking.
