The packaging says BPA free. I would guess the "beak" is made of silicone because it is soft and flexible and the handle is hard and rigid, so probably the plastic part of the spatula. **Q: Is beak of spatula fairly stiff and maintains shape or soft and pliable ?** A: It has some pliability but is firm enough to grab that peanut butter.
