Review: Has a good level of difficulty providing a child some significant level of challenge, which once achieved, helps him stimulate the confidence in mathematics. My child who is still in primary school, has now started showing signs of confidence in maths and is able to solve some simple simultaneous equations using the substitution/elimination approach which this book teaches really well. I am so happy I got him this book and I believe his secondary maths studies will be fun. Addendum: Dec 2025 So I came back to add a few more words to my 8 year old review because I believe it is human (ubuntu) to share good things. This book did indeed lay down a solid foundation for my boy's maths. During his n'fives and highers, he went on to achieve grades that even surprised me.

Has a good level of difficulty providing a child some significant level of challenge, which once achieved, helps him stimulate the confidence in mathematics. My child who is still in primary school, has now started showing signs of confidence in maths and is able to solve some simple simultaneous equations using the substitution/elimination approach which this book teaches really well.
