This is everything you need to get from very dull to extremely sharp without needing to buy any additional stones. About the KME sharpener: the KME Sharpener is a manual rod-guided controlled angle sharpening system. It is small and portable and offers capabilities and features beyond comparably priced systems. It features a rotating blade clamp which speeds up the sharpening process and spherical rod guiding system maintains precise angles making it easy for ANYONE to sharpen knives and broadheads. The sharpener allows continuous angle adjustments from 17 to 30 degrees and is marked out in single degree increments for easy angle selection. The new low profile clamp is neoprene lined to protect your blades from scratching or marring, and is marked with two depth lines to assist with repositioning the knife for touch ups. They use beautiful solid cherry wood for the grip and stone holder. Their stone holder allows for quick stone changes of the large 1 x4 inch stones with a knurled thumb screw system and all their sharpening accessories screw firmly onto the same guide-rod. And it all stores inside a hard sided carry case measuring 12 x 8 x 3-1/2 inches. The case includes soft foam lining in both the base and lid to protect your sharpener and accessories. An additional layer of stiffer foam has cut-outs for the stone carrier, stones, water bottles and holds everything securely in place when the lid is closed - including the included base! An all-around great sharpening system for home and field use. Review: Ricardo García - Increíble sistema, muy fácil de usar y con resultados maravillosos, muy versátil tanto para, cuchilos de cocina y navajas de filo liso. Review: Razor sharp at my first attempt. - For many years I have tried to use a wet stone with varying degrees of success. I finally thought I needed more assistance in sharpening my knives. After a lot of online research and reviews I decided on the KME knife sharpener. I watched a few videos, put the the knife sharpener together when it arrived and started sharpening a few knives. From the very first knife achieved sharpness I have not achieved with any other method. It is simple but very effective. My next consideration will be to buy a kangaroo strop and go for a mirror finish. Although I don’t really think this is needed for the use I put my knives to in the kitchen as they cut everything beautifully already just with using four diamonds that came with a KME system. I am very happy with this knife sharpener. ## Features - Newest KME Kit as of June 2015 with Base Included - 4 Gold Series KME 1x4 diamond hones - 140 extra-coarse, 300 coarse, 600 fine and 1500 extra fine - Spherical bearing rod guide for zero angle deviation and smooth sharpening motion - Continuous angle adjustment from 17 to 30 degrees - marked in 1 degree increments - Very portable - stores in included hard carry case. ## Technical Specifications | Specification | Value | |---------------|-------| | ASIN | B010ESF0AW | | Best Sellers Rank | #333,777 in Kitchen ( See Top 100 in Kitchen ) #768 in Manual Knife Sharpeners | | Brand | KME Sharpeners | | Brand Name | KME Sharpeners | | Color | Gold | | Colour | Gold | | Customer Reviews | 4.7 out of 5 stars 652 Reviews | | Grit Type | Coarse, Extra Coarse, Extra Fine, Fine | | Grit type | Coarse, Extra Coarse, Extra Fine, Fine | | Item Dimensions L x W x H | 7L x 4W x 4H centimeters | | Item Weight | 0.75 Pounds | | Item weight | 0.75 Pounds | | Manufacturer | KME Sharpeners | | Manufacturer Part Number | KF-D4 and KF-Base | | Material | Wood | | Material Type | Wood | | Model Number | KFD4-WB | | Number of Items | 1 | | Product dimensions | 7L x 4W x 4H centimeters | | UPC | 680474194476 | | Unit Count | 1.0 Count | ## Product Details - **Brand:** KME Sharpeners - **Colour:** Gold - **Item weight:** 340 g - **Material:** Wood - **Product dimensions:** 7L x 4W x 4H centimeters ## Images ![KME Precision Knife Sharpener System with 4 Gold Series Diamond Hones - Base Included - Image 1](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/81hDdttOMNL.jpg) ## Questions & Answers **Q: Can this be used for sharpening straight razors?** A: Thanks for checking in on that. This system wouldn't be able to get down to a low enough angle for most straight razors. If you are looking at guided systems the Edge Pro and Wicked Edge systems will do straight razors. You can also do them on bench stones. Feel free to give us a call if you have other questions we can help with - 505-570-2040 **Q: Where can i buy just the gold series diamond stones at? i have the kme kit already** A: Contact KME for the gold series diamond stones. They sell directly to the customer and/or direct you to their vendors. **Q: will this sharpen pruners?** A: Yes if you take them apart **Q: I just got this system and wonder about the base support. The sharpener is able to wobble on the base by a few mm. Is this normal? Thanks.** A: Yes and it won't effect the sharpening. You can hold it in your hand if the wobble bothers you. I have done at least a hundred sharpenings on mine with outstanding results. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Razor sharp at my first attempt. *by P***N on 31 August 2022* For many years I have tried to use a wet stone with varying degrees of success.
