## Description

The second generation T 5 p unites mobility and audiophile sound quality on a whole new level. Like its predecessor, the T 5 p combines the latest Tesla technology with the advantages of a closed design. The electrical resistance of 32 ohms makes the T 5 p the ideal partner for portable audio devices. Thanks to the Tesla technology, the low-impedance sound transducers unleash the full audio potential of even inefficient smartphones, tablets and high-resolution players. The short, textile-covered cable is dual-sided and is also designed for use on mobile devices. Like the previous model, the 2nd generation of the T 5 p was handmade with meticulous workmanship in Germany. Top-quality materials and sophisticated technology were brought together in a series of practiced movements with a love of detail. That's why we continue to offer a 5-year manufacturer's warranty for our closed high-end Tesla-series model.

Review: So this is what a flagship portable headphone sounds like... - I got this headphone used in "like new" desertcart condition. Proud owner of the Sennheiser Momentum, AKG Q701, Denon AHD 600, Beyerdynamic Custom One Pros, Audiotechnica ATH M50, and Grado RS2i. I just happened to have just enough money from saving and decided to go for one of my dream headphones. I definitely never imagined that one day I would even think of going to the 1000 dollar plus territory. I was initially deciding on either the T5P 2nd gens, the Fostex TH900 mk2, Audeze LCD XC, Final Design Sonorous VI, or MrSpeakers Ether C since I have friends who owner a few of these and others were auditioned in a store. I settled with the T5P since it had the best isolation of the others and was most comfortable. Those who tested These headphones claim that they are also good at every genre, so it was a no brainer for me. I can't imagine going portable with the Fostex being that they don't feel as solid or durable. Not to mention that they leak. LCD XC is honestly very detailed but has a very small soundstage for that price and even compared to the T5P for significantly less. It's also unbearably uncomfortable being hands down the heaviest headphones I've ever worn (LCD 3 is a close 2nd obviously). I didn't find enough info on the Final Design Sonorous VI (they do look sexy) and no one I know owns them. I almost bought the Ether C but they are harder to drive and don't feel as comfortable to wear long term. The winner is T5P 2nd gen! The sound quality and accuracy of the Ether C is worth boasting over all the other headphones for sure, but needless to say, it ain't that much of an improvement over the T5P. Not enough to justify the much higher price tag. If Ether C is a 10/10 closed back headphone, I will gladly give T5P a 9.5/10. That good and worlds better than all of my other headphones. I was surprised that it was more detailed than my Grado RS2i and had a bigger soundstage than my AKG Q701. The bass was so full of extension and punchy when the recording called for it. I heard the 1st T5P had a treble overload. They definitely have treble, but it is soothing and wasnt buried behind the bass and mids. These headphones feel like an open headphone and I can't recommend them enough.
Review: Excellently-Sounding, Versatile Headphones - The headphones sound excellent with excellent tonal balance, clear sound, but slight warmth in the low end. They are robustly built with quality materials to last long with excellent comfort for long listening sessions. The sound stage is large with precise imaging and excellent instrument separation even with the closed design. Sound can leak slightly at a high volume level but the leakage is not noticeable in moderate and comfortable volume levels. They also provide reasonable sound isolation for portable usages. I purchased used ones with like new condition at $840. The price can be easily justified when considering the versatility of the closed design with the low impedance. I have paired the T5p with Chord Electronics Mojo or Audioquest Dragonfly Red through Audioquest Jitterbug, enabling me to enjoy the excellent sound everywhere. I have owned many headphones including Sennheiser HD 600 and 650, Focal Spirit Pro, AKG K702, etc. The T5p 2nd generation has been mostly picked up amongst these reference headphones. Only one minor downside is that the included carrying case is too bulky and heavy for portable usages although it provides a good protection of the expensive investment. I am using a cheap, light hard-shelled carrying case to carry the headphone around.

### ⭐⭐ NOT WORTH $1,000.00 - MUCH BETTER OPTIONS OUT THERE.
*by D***Y on May 3, 2018*

I get it. Sound preference is subjective. I've owned all levels of headphones. from Fostex, to Sony, to Zipbuds, to Grado, you name it. I expected to be blown away with a "Wow" factor that I got when I listen to my Fostex. Not with these -- at all. They are fatiguing and very bright. The bass is neutral with above-average depth only when you crank up the EQ. The cups were a slightly smaller than I had anticipated, so I can see how they could grow uncomfortable after an hours if listening. Portable? No. They are bulky and do not fold. For $1,000, I expect much better execution. I would give ATH-M50x a higher rating than these for sound quality (even if they cost the same), and MOST CERTAINLY for value. I
