**Q: Will these protect against rose thorns, etc.?**
A: The palms will provide good protection from rose thorns.  The nylon on the back of the hand only provides minimal protection.

**Q: how are these for yard work ? like shoveling , clearing wood and bushes ?**
A: These works for me.....I wear them to work in my garden too.

A: No, I do not think they are heat resistant.
