The fans are set to come on when my humidity or temperature levels exceed my settings. The airflow through this fan is set to level 7 (out of 10) and it is perfect for my situation. The product is attractive (too bad it is in a crawlspace) and is well built. Since I've only had it for a couple of days I can't speak for longevity but the company provided information on how to contact their Customer Service Department for support.
