Review: Corkscrew works very well - foil cutter needs practice - Have had a Brabantia trash can for 13 years and have been very impressed with quality, durability and easy use. The Brabantia corkscrew is a little different in appearance and has a different mechanism to most old school corkscrews. First time I used had trouble removing the foil and had to use my old WMF foil cutter. The corkscrew worked perfectly. Second time - got the foil cutter to work and the corkscrew worked like a charm. Only concern going forward is whether the plastic will be durable. Bought a spare to be on the safe side.

**Q: Is Matte Steel the same as Stainless steel, or will this rust?  Thanks.**
A: Yes, it is the same as stainless. Matte simply refers to the "soft" - not shiny finish. We have had ours for a year and a half - use it almost daily  and it looks as good as new.

**Q: Does the matte finish scratch? Also, I'm wondering why the dimensions are different from the black and white models?**
A: I have the black and stainless. I have had for 2 years and very little scratches. I'm very pleased - best manual wine opener.

**Q: Is the bottle opener battery powered or electric?**
A: It's neither battery nor electric powered but completely manual. I found it very easy to use. It is far better than all other manual bottle openers I have.

**Q: What's the trick to using the foil cutter?**
A: I never used the foil cutter. Sorry.

Producto claramente orientado a la funcionalidad, sin añadidos ni diseños llamativos, perdí el que había comprado hace un par de años y no he dudado en repetir porque me gustó. El mecanismo es suave y permite extraer el corcho sin esfuerzo excesivo ni tirones, incluso en botellas con corchos algo más duros. El cuerpo de acero transmite buena sensación de resistencia y el acabado negro es discreto, fácil de integrar en cualquier cocina sin destacar en exceso. No tiene palancas dobles ni sistemas avanzados, pero tampoco los necesita. Cumple su función de forma directa y fiable. El agarre es correcto y no da sensación de fragilidad, aunque no es especialmente ergonómico si tienes manos grandes. En conjunto, es un sacacorchos honesto y bien construido, pensado para quien quiere algo duradero y práctico sin complicarse. No pretende competir con modelos profesionales, pero para uso doméstico regular cumple perfectamente.
