## Questions & Answers

**Q: Does anyone know the amp draw on the small studs, i want to use this with a garage door normally open contact.. i be running 12vdc thru garage contact**
A: It draws approx 0.5 amps at 12 V.

**Q: can this be used on 2019 canyon for battery disc. for flat tow**
A: No, I would not. Go to a marine supply and purchase a Cole Hersee or other brand rotary battery switch.

**Q: Anyone have experience using this solenoid under load from extended directions?**
A: I have this solenoid installed on my 59 Tbird for about five years now. It is activated the entire time ignition key is in the "ON" position. When off, both battery and alternator are completely disconnected from entire system, basically using this solenoid as a cut-off switch to prevent accidental battery drainage.

**Q: Does solenoid make an audible CLICK once energized and relaying power from alternator to house batteries? I don’t hear it but vltg meter says it works**
A: I have a 2000 Ford Motor Home on a F-53 Chassis. The solenoid does CLICK when energized---it is plenty loud enough to hear. BUT--------Just because it clicks does not mean it is working. My original clicked for years and I thought it was working OK, but when my starting battery died and I tried using the emergency switch, it clicked but no juice got to the starter. I checked the solenoid with a volt meter, and while it clicked, the 12 volts did not get from one side to the other. I found a youtube video where this was explained. This should really be noted in all RV instruction manuals. Remove the wires from the solenoid---Remove solenoid from application----Check continuity between the large posts. (it should show open) ----Then hook the + and minus to the small terminals and check the continuity between the two large posts (should show continuity) ----If it does not, then the solenoid is bad even if it clicks! I would suggest this test be done at the start of each travel season. The test can be done without removing the solenoid, but be extra careful not to short anything out. Good luck!!!
