Pull it out and look for the hole. It took me a few tries to pierce it the first time. Very gently squeeze the cartridge just a little over a paper towel or the sink. You don't want a splatter mess. That should get it started. If that fails, wet the tip of a paper towel and brush it lightly against the nib.
